Corvair Case Rebuild

Here is some information on case repair and rebuilding that I am making available to the Corvair community.  This is a summary and not complete in all scopes.

                        Cleaning and Preparation

The corvair engine case is an important piece of the total engine package and it is crutial that it be prepped properly for your installation.  Cleaning and inspecting is necessary for a well built engine.  I hope to be able to help you with this.  Most people can do this work themselves but some may want some help so here is how I can help you.

    1.  Cleaning.  I have the case boiled and washed in a vat to remove the majority of dirt and grime.  It is then cleaned by hand (no sandblasting as this creates major problems).  All the bores are cleaned as well.  Pushrod tube holes are polished for the o-rings.

    2.  Head studs.  You can have all head studs removed and replaced with new or just have damaged studs replaced.   If an oversized stud is needed I can install heli-coils and relace the studs as well.  All studs are then cleaned and painted.

    3.  Final prep.  Case is cleaned a final time before painting if so desired.  This option can be customized according to your needs.  Case is then bagged and shipped.
